The Kid Ranch is a daycare and learning center in Kyle, TX. The Kid Ranch Christian Preschool was founded in 2005 by Destini Doherty-Evans. The daycare and learning center is located in Kyle, TX on Goforth Rd. near the Seton Hospital.
The Kid Ranch Christian Preschool has guiding principals that help us lead a loving and safe school. The first principal is our faith. We are a Christian learning center. We introduce your child to Christ and Christian teachings at the level that they can comprehend. Our values support our activities, but we are learning center first and foremost. Our faith supports our education, but your children receive an excellent general education that will place them at the head of their class. While in our care, your child will learn all the building blocks necessary to become successful kids.
My decision to become a school that includes the Christian faith was an easy one in the end. The Kid Ranch has operated successfully for many years now, but I have continually struggled with my true purpose in this world. After some guidance from a higher power, I made the decision to include Christian teachings as a pillar of our curriculum. The Kid Ranch will now provide an environment for kids to not only grow strong mentally, and physically but spiritually as well. We are very excited to discuss our new direction with any parents seeking a school for their kids that includes their most deeply held values.
The Kid Ranch does not exclude any child from attending regardless of their faith or non-faith background. We welcome all children to become members of our school. For more information on availability and rates, please visit the enrollment page!
I am Destini Doherty- Evans, the owner and director of The Kid Ranch. I grew up in San Marcos, Texas. I graduated from San Marcos High School and went on to get my Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in Family and Child Development. After graduation, I went to work for Child Protective Services where I investigated child abuse cases, provided services to families in need and acted as guardian to children that had become custody of the state. After two years as a protective services investigator, I opened my first childcare and learning center in San Marcos. I have owned Lil’ PeeWee’s child care and learning center since April 1997. I directed Lil’ PeeWee’s until 2005 when I opened the Kid Ranch. I still own and operate Lil’ PeeWee’s but spend my days as Full time Director at The Kid Ranch.
I was hired to help a Christian center that was about to be closed by the state. In 60 days time turned the center around to be profitable and tithing to the church, as well as brought the center into good standings with State licensing within the first 6 months of being at the Center.
My passion is Children and Jesus. If I can be that person to help plant that seed in even the small children then I feel I’m doing what God has called me to do.
I don’t believe that it’s my job to teach children any kind of denominational teachings. I feel it’s my job to teach them kindness and about God’s love through bible stories or song. It’s important to me that Children learn the basic principles of Godly character such as loving one another, sharing, kindness etc. It’s important to me that the children learn to be good examples of Christ through their behavior.
I am personally very involved in the Walk to Emmaus. This is a program built to built leaders in our churches. I’ve recently become involved in Cairos which is a ministry that goes into the prison systems and teachers inmates about God’s love for them.
I ’m a member of Gruene United Methodist Church where we strive to go out into our community and help others and be the hands and feet of Christ. My church is very laid back and genuine. I invite anyone that would like to get a picture of what God’s love is to attend. I teach bible studies on a regular basis at my church. I’ve always prayed daily for each and every child and family in my center. Even before we became a Christian based center each morning I surround the center with prayer before we start our day.
